We all love summer: you get to kick back, relax, and enjoy the sunshine. Summer weather is however not fun when it comes to the harsh sun, humidity and sweat - it can be difficult to keep yourself looking and feeling fresh. Solution? Right here. With these grooming products, you can look and feel your best when the temperature rises. Scroll on for the must-shop products of the season and some of my tips.
CLEANSER
.Clean your face before you go to bed at night and when you wake up in the morning. This will keep you looking fresh and a gentle cleanser gets rid of the grime without over-drying.
FACE SCRUB
Use a scrub a twice a week to get a deep cleaning for your skin. Exfoliating frees your skin of pore-clogging dead skin cells. It also helps open up hair follicles for a closer and smooth shave.
FACE MASK
Applying a face mask for 15 minutes after a shower can help with everything from dehydration and acne to signs of ageing. It's also a very effective way to force yourself to relax for a few minutes.
SPF MOISTURISER
Using the same sunscreen on your body and face can irritate sensitive skin. Instead, pick an oil-free moisturiser formulated with an SPF — it will keep your skin soothed and protected in the heat. If you’re in the sun for longer periods, make sure to reply the moisturiser every two hours.
UNDER EYE PATCH
Step up your eye game with under eye patches, either in the morning or before a night out. Instantly energises and wakes skin up, leaving it looking refreshed.
SUNSCREEN
Wear a SPF, that blocks both UVA and UVB rays. UVA is associated with skin aging and UVB rays are responsible for producing sunburn. The best practice is to apply 30 minutes before going outside to allow the sunscreen to bind to your skin.
BODY WASH
Some soaps can damage your skin barrier and make things like dry skin and irritation worse. Instead, look for gentle body washes that will clean and condition your skin to keep that dry feeling away.
DRY SHAMPOO
The hotter weather can leave hair feeling greasy, and in need of frequent shampooing which can dry out your hair and scalp. Try a dry shampoo, a few mists will revive greasy hair. Just make sure you massage it in before leaving the house. Then you’ll want to comb through your hair to get rid of any residue.
ROLL ON
Not all deodorants and antiperspirants are created equal. Deodorants eliminate smell and antiperspirants prevent sweat from forming. Whatever fits your lifestyle, it’s important to pick either for your needs.
AFTER SUN
The best way to treat sunburn is not to get burnt, but hydration should be every red-faced fella’s fallback position. That means drinking plenty of water and applying an after sun cream that can effectively soothe and cool.
