A daily skincare routine is key for maintaining healthy skin. If you're interested in skincare but don't know where to start, consider this your entry point. Thanks to the Q&A with Woolworths, below you’ll find my skincare secrets and grooming go-to products. No matter your skin type, the steps below won’t change, only the product selection will.

I like to start my day with gratitude. Using affirmations and reminding myself of my daily blessings. It’s a real kick starter.

DESCRIBE YOUR MORNING SKINCARE ROUTINE

After gym I hop straight into the shower. The Longmarket Body Wash is non-drying and lathers up nicely. I have combination skin and prefer gentle face cleansers like the Clarins Active Face Wash. Before I get dressed I like to apply a body moisturiser, it’s best absorbed straight out of the shower. The Jo Malone Velvet Rose & Oud Dry Body Oil not only smells amazing, it conditions my skin without making it feel oily. My face moisturiser must include an SPF, the Longmarket Barber Moisturiser SPF 15,  leaves my skin hydrated and protected. I then follow with an eye cream; my go-to one right now is the  Lab Series for Men Instant Eye Lift cream, which combats almost everything: lines, wrinkles, dark circles and crow’s feet.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE TIP OR HACK FOR MAKING YOURSELF LOOK AMAZING IN FIVE MINUTES?

For me its wearing a tinted moisturiser. It’s one of the easiest way to camouflage acne, breakouts and redness. No one would be the wiser.

DESCRIBE YOUR EVENING SKINCARE ROUTINE

I like mixing an exfoliator into my night time regime, to help get rid of dead skin cells. The Longmarket Barber BLUE Exfoliating Face Wash it’s great for tired-looking skin. And if I think my skin needs extra love, I use a mask. I really like the Lab Series Oil Control Cleansing Clay & Maskit unclogs pores and helps with any blemishes. It’s a great product if you have oily skin. I finish things off with a good face moisturiser or serum. Clarins Energizing Gel is cooling, lightweight and absorbs quickly.

WHAT IS YOUR PERSONAL APPROACH TO NUTRITION AND DIET?

Healthy mind, healthy lifestyle. I try my best to follow a healthy diet. It really helps, especially if I want to stay productive throughout the day.

WHAT KEY INGREDIENTS DO YOU ALWAYS LOOK FOR IN GROOMING PRODUCTS AND WHY?

I have combination skin. For my oily areas or when I experience any breakouts I look for products containing salicylic acid. This ingredient is effective at controlling excess sebum production. If my skin feels sensitive or dry I look for aloe or shea butter, these provide hydration. Check out Woolworths for these products.

DO YOU HAVE ANY DAILY SELF-CARE RITUALS THAT MAKE YOU FEEL MORE LIKE YOURSELF?

Exercising on a regular basis. I go to gym 3 to 4 times a week. And having a cup of green tea once or twice while thinking of feel-good mantras make me feel more relaxed.

IS EXERCISE/MOVEMENT A PART OF YOUR LIFE? IF SO, WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO AND WHY?

I need a workout in the morning to help kick-start my day. My routine consists of a 10-minute run on the treadmill and some weight training in between. I like switching things up with abs workout classes as well.

WHAT BODY OR SKIN TREATMENTS DO YOU PRIORITISE/RECOMMEND?

Wearing SPF daily, even if it is cloudy or raining. UV rays not only cause skin cancer, but are one of the biggest factors in skin aging. And using an eye cream is also a must for me. It has always been part of my skincare routine. I use it twice a day!
